Jorou Gumo

Jorou Gumo is a Japanese Yokai monster folklore illustrated in a book "Gazu Hyakki Yakou" written by Sekien Toriyama in 1776.

It is a spider that can transform into a beautiful woman.

One day, a young 19 to 20 years old woman with a kid appeared in front of a young samurai in a house. The woman told the kid "He is your father, go and give him a hug". The young samurai suddenly noticed they could be yokai, so he drew his sword and slashed the woman. The woman ran into the attic.
Next day, the young samurai found a huge spider dead with sword wounds and many parts of human supposedly eaten by this spider.
