Ohgama is a Japanese Yokai monster mentioned in a book "Ehon Hyaku Monogatari" in 1841 or "Hokuetsu Kidan" in 1812.

It is a giant Japanese toad.

In "Ehon Hyaku Monogatari", Ohgama lives in Iwakuni mountain, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is 2.4 M high. It breaths out rainbow-like smoke and birds or insects touched this smoke will be inhaled into Ohgama's mouth. It eats snakes during the Summer. This Ohgama also holds a spear and attacks whoever changes.

In "Hokuetsu Kidan", Ohgama lives in Muramatsu, Niigata Prefecture. One day, a samurai called Fujita found a good fishing spot along a river where covered in swellings. Fujita was fishing for a while. There was another samurai fishing on the other side of the river, but suddenly that samurai tidied up everything quickly and gestured Fujita to go home quickly before he ran away. Fujita tidied up and followed the samurai and asked what it was. The samurai told Fujita "Did you not notice!? The thing you were sitting opened its fire-like red eyes and yawned". Two men went back to the river, but Ohgama had already gone.
